For tea ceremonies, stages, engagement ceremonies, hallways, decorations, and also as permanent items for temples, shrines, and wedding venues.
■Origin of Felt The oldest felt currently known in Japan is the wool felt housed in the Shosoin, which was brought over through Silla during the Nara period. After the early modern period, it began to be referred to as "wool felt," and large quantities of wool felt were imported not only from China but also from Europe. By the late Edo period, it started to be used in the daily lives of the common people, particularly among the wealthy class. Even today, red wool felt is used as a Japanese-style carpet in tea ceremony settings called "konmōsen" and in the corridors of temples. Our felt-like wool felt reproduces the texture and quality of traditional wool felt and is loved in various scenes.
